A few years ago, I caught an eye infection, in the middle of summer. It was unusually sunny in Normandy where I spent my holidays. The sun was burning my eyes, especially on the beach with the reflection of the sea and the sand. I started to take overexposed pictures to reflect what I could painfully see : almost burnt landscapes. I loved the result. My eyes healed but something changed in the way I saw the seaside. The extreme light and pain endured by the eyes could only be balanced with overexposing the images, making them look almost like watercolours, as if drowned in the sea...
